HISTORY OF CORVETTE 1963 - 1982

Quote from my ex-girlfriend Peggy:

"There Are 2 Kinds Of People Who Drive Corvettes: Those Who Fit In Them and Those Who Try To Fit In Them"

The Original Corvettes were made in Hand Laminated Fiberglas!

1963 (Fast Back Body Style) to 1968 (Coupe)

In 1968 Chevrolet went to great detail to create first EXOTIC BODY STYLE
via 'Space Alien Technology'.  Its Original Design was Japanese inspired
and called the 'MAKO SHARK VERSION'  and was to became the first rear engine Corvette.

The test Corvette crashed in Detroit Michigan.

The crash was due to winter ice on the tracks; the rear engine caused it to be rear heavy, front light.

It was the dead of winter and the car was fitted with  F70-15 Bias Ply Tires
(Radial Tires were not perfected until the late 1980s)

REASON WHY EXOTIC 1968 CORVETTE BODY STYLE WAS DONE AWAY WITH IN 1969:

California Highway Patrol complained to GMC That 68 Corvette defeated ALL POLICE RADAR!!
Because of it's snout nose and also the radiator is on a 60 degree slant.

Police Radar simply bounced off.

I modified and came up with a metal concept spoiler, which was later

copied by the Stealth bomber design.

I do hold the copyright and trade mark to this concept.

If I could sue U.S. military for ripping off my idea I would.

1968 Corvette Cp was built 75 years ahead of its time

You could travel at very high speeds.

I ran my car at  160 mph (Factory 427 c.i. V-8 / Tri-Power)

Radial tires barely touching the road.
You heard no side exhaust.  No Noise Of Any Kind.

The 1968 Dream Corvette, and it's EXOTIC BODY STYLE was
DESTROYED by the greed of politicians when SMOG regulation was passed.
In 1969 California alone pulled in $60 billion in SMOG TAXES

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE UNITED STATES COLLECTS  IN SMOG TAXES NOW!

PERSONAL HISTORY OF MY 1968 CORVETTE

I ordered my first Corvette (1968 Corvette Coupe) September 1967.  It arrived May 1968.

FLAWS:

Front End corners Fenders (Vibration) cracking,

T Top Cracking...NO SIDE EXHAUST...
Over Heating Problems...

I ordered the side exhaust and it arrived in pieces.

Peeling; chrome would not adhere on aluminum side exhaust

Even Chevrolet Dealer BEYRLS CHEVROLET could not solve the over heating problem.

They Installed 7 Blade Truck Clutch Fan (Noisy As Hell)

Still overheated.

I then removed 195 degree stat replaced 180 degree thermostat.

Bought after market 6 Blade stainless steel flexolite fan and removed front body insulation and it cooled down.

Other Problems:

TRI-POWER CARBURETORS

In very cold weather the carburetors metering plates warped and the engine filled up with gasoline.
The GMAC technicians didn't know what caused it.

I replaced mechanical gas pump, then dismantled and rebuilt the carburetor.
